Wildlife

The minute that you stop respecting wildlife and what they are capable of is when you will get hurt. That's why "accidents" happen, because some people are retarded and don't know what their doing in the wild. Before going out into the wild you should make sure that you are prepared for anything that could happen. you might want to research the area you are going to and find out the different kinds of animals and plant so if you do get into trouble you will have a larger chance of surviving.

When going into the wild make sure that you have some sort of deterrent to fend off predators. Most people take bear spray of some humane crap, but if you want to trust your life to a spray can be my guest. Me on the other hand wont go into the unknown with out a few reliable guns and a whole lot of ammo. Once you have protection you need some sort of shelter to keep you out of the weather. i would recommend a cabin like tent they are expensive, but you can stay warm and it's hard to tear down. lastly just have extra food in case you cant find any, but ration for longer use.

I agree with this 100%. Some people just think they know it all, and 'think' they know what they are doing.. when really, they don't. it is harder than it looks....

It drives me crazy every year when people go on "day hikes" and then decide to go off trail and get lost. They never have any food or water.

Do you have any idea how many hikers are actually attacked by wild animals a year, not counting foolish the people in Yellowstone who try to pet bears?
