Not a lot of people use shotguns, mostly for birds and bunny's. The only shotguns that I have shot out of are 10, 12, 20, gauge shot gun. all of them were pump action as well. I'v only been out duck hunting twice and I never shot anything, but I have been cotton tail hunting and I used a shot gun. that was fun it was a rush to chase after those bunny's and kill them. To tell you the truth I never really liked shooting shotguns they just don't get the same accuracy as a rifle or even a pistol. they do come in handy and I will own lots of them there just not my gun on choice.
I don't know what else to talk about shotguns are boring and I don't know much about them, and I have never really spent much time with them. I still think that they would come in handy someday but, till that day comes I will choose a different weapon to use. I don't know what else to say so I'm just rambling on so that I looks like a full blog. sure hope Rolha doesn't mark me down for this.

Guns
Guns are one of the most important things to take with you when going out into the wild. hunting fish, just walking around town there is no limit to what a gun can do for you. they are fairly simple to use and when the time comes I would rather have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it. For those people who say guns are bad and they don't do anything but, hurt others. Well its not the guns to blame its the people that we let use guns, so in case I happen to run into one of those people I will have a gun and I will pull the trigger first. most people know the information that I'm going to tell you and for those who don't pay attention it might come in handy.
There are a few different actions to a gun, a pump, bolt, semi auto, and a full auto. with a pump action you can only shoot one bullet at a time, until you pump the gun. the pump is located in the front of the gun and all you have to do is pull it back and it will eject the empty shell and replace it with another. A bolt action is similar to the pump but instead of pumping the gun, there will be a bolt located on the side of the gun were the stock and barrel meet. lift up on the bolt and pull out to eject the cartridge, push bolt forward and don't to place a new bullet. the only deference between a semi auto and full auto is the trigger. the semi auto will only shoot one bullet every time you pull the trigger, with a full auto you can hold down the trigger and it Will keep firing till you are out of ammo.

My biggest deer
I shot my biggest deer the third time i went hunting for deer. I left with a muzzle loader witch has iron sites and you only get one shot to hit the deer because it takes so long to reload. since i had a muzzle loader and i was hunting in a brand new area that i new nothing about i knew it was going to be a bit harder than my last hunting trips. I say that because any animal you hunt has a pattern that they follow. some people will argue with you if you say that but, i believe it because i know exactly where to find the deer in an area that i have already hunted. That's the hard part about hunting in a new area, you have to find the pattern they follow.
Anyway, back to my story my dad and uncle were the only ones out there i had a tag for both a deer and an elk. the whole time we were up there we saw hundreds of doe everywhere. no bucks or elk tho. Finally after a wile of hunting we were passing a spring that we saw and there was a herd of elk in there. my uncle stoped the truck and my dad and i got out and stared a sneak. well my dads pants got snagged and that spooked the elk so they ran and we didn't even get a shot off. that same day headed back to camp that night my uncle almost hit a deer that ran right out in front of us and all hes said is holy shit shoot. so i pointed my gun out the window and shot the deer it jumped up and ran a little ways but fell down. We got flashlights and went looking, after a wile we found him in a dried river bed 100 yards away from the road. he was a beautiful 5 4 not including the cheaters or eye guards.

My Grandfather
I'm going to tell you about how I learned all these things about thee wilderness. Some of you may think that I'm full of it, but I know what I'm talking about. My grandpa was the man who took me out to learn all of what I know about the wild, the key word there was took, I didn't learn from books I learned from experience. My grandpa jumped off a cruse ship into the Atlantic ocean, he was feeling very sick and he was a stubborn man so there was no getting him to the doctor. I was crushed it only happened a year ago and I don't like to talk about it, but hes the reason that I'm able to blog about something that matters, and may help people in life. He was an old bastard who did whatever he felt like, but he forgot more about the wild than most people even know in the first place. I was lucky enough that he decided to pass it all down to me.
The most I learned from a trip that we took was going to Alaska, there are many thing that you need to know when travelling in unfamiliar areas, the first I would recommend is to get your directions North, South, East, West down to a tee. Do a little research on where there the towns big or little and about how far away they are from each other. Lastly the direction of the town from each other. Make sure that you take a reliable weapon that you know will work. People recommend bear spray, F that I personally wouldn't trust my life to a can. Do what you want, but I'm taking a big gun.
Don't carry food that will spoil take dried fruits and as many small things you can eat that will give you lots of energy. Study the plants that you will find in the local area because plats are very use full. You can eat them or use them for medicine if you need to. The last peace of advice to you now is to take a satellite phone in case your cellphone is out of service. That way you can call for help and it should even display your location. I always watch bear grillzs before going out into the wild because he knows what hes talking about and explains how and what to do in certain situations.

Wildlife
The minute that you stop respecting wildlife and what they are capable of is when you will get hurt. That's why "accidents" happen, because some people are retarded and don't know what their doing in the wild. Before going out into the wild you should make sure that you are prepared for anything that could happen. you might want to research the area you are going to and find out the different kinds of animals and plant so if you do get into trouble you will have a larger chance of surviving.
When going into the wild make sure that you have some sort of deterrent to fend off predators. Most people take bear spray of some humane crap, but if you want to trust your life to a spray can be my guest. Me on the other hand wont go into the unknown with out a few reliable guns and a whole lot of ammo. Once you have protection you need some sort of shelter to keep you out of the weather. i would recommend a cabin like tent they are expensive, but you can stay warm and it's hard to tear down. lastly just have extra food in case you cant find any, but ration for longer use.

Competitions
Since the inventions of weapons there has been competitions to see who is the best of the best. Personally I will shoot against anyone that will challenge me because it's fun. Before I moved here I was involved in 3-D archery shooting competitions. The rules are simple, you have an animal down rang so many yards away from you. The target has 3 or 4 rings around the kill zone all determining a point value, if you hit in or on that ring you receive that particular rings point. I can't remember but, you shoot between 100 and 150 targets. Once you've gone thought the whole course that is set up you turn your points in and they will post your name on a score board so you know how well you did or didn't do.
I have earned many different medals and trophies from all the competitions that I have been to, I have never reach first place the closest that I got was second place. I was disappointed because I lost by 8 points. I will continue to participate in shooting competitions as long as i have the time because it challenging, and you get to be out in the woods for a day and sharpen your killer skills.

Fishing
Fishing is one of the most important things in my life, I go fishing to calm down or to take a break from the world and people. Its a place where I can just sit there out in the wild and see what happens in the silence. What I enjoy the most about fishing is sitting back in a lawn chair and sippen on a Mickie's. I have been fishing in many places such as Alaska, Cabo, Kona, and all the lakes and rivers that have ever lived close to. The biggest fish that i have ever caught was in Alaska, it was a 98 pound Halibit off the ocean floor. That fish took me about half an hour to forty five minutes. I don't really know what more to say because its simple to do and fun.

camping
There are many different ways to go camping and all are fun. It depends on the type of person and how much they enjoy the outdoors. For examples some take moterhomes or campers, I like to call those the buzz kills. Others bring tents or at least a bed roll, I refer to them as the game changers. lastly the point of camping that I enjoyed the most is going with nothing but, the things you need some food, fresh water, chew and some way to make fire. I will never take a moterhome or camper, I mostly take a tent or sleep under the stars but the most fun I had was a canoe trip that I took with my dad and little brother.
The canoe trip that i took was two weeks in a circuit of lakes called Bowron up in Canada. We didn"t take muck we each had a backpack with a little food and tablets to snitize the water so we could drinck it. Most of the trip was was fun and we caught a lot of fish but, the turning point of that trip was when my dad tiped the canoe over into 50 degree water. He had a huge fish on his line and when he tryed to get it on the boat he stood up and fell into the water. looking back on it the thing that I would change is telling him not to get back in the boat because when he did that it put my little brother and
I into the water with him... I do enjoy that type of camping the most but, it can wear you out fast.

First time hunting
There was no better experience in my life than the first time that I went hunting. Hunting takes a lot of work, but it can be a pain to find the particular animal you are hunting for. To some people it is not worth the time and effort, and others are tree huggers who don't realize the major importance of hunting. As for the rest of us wile you are lining up your shot you understand the miracle of life, and how it could be taken away faster than it was given. The first time that you go hunting and bag an animal you will feel an excitement that you will never feel again, even now that i have hunted for years and bagged many animals there was nothing like my first hunting trip and my first kill.
I was 12 years old when I went hunting for the first time, I was huntung for a deer on Buckskin Mountain in Nevada. I went up with my dad and grandparents witch was good family bonding time. we hunted the whole season and found nothing. we headed home empty handed, my dad and I talked and decided to go up for the last weekend. we camped next to a creek and in the morrning as we walked over the first ridge we saw a herd of doe. Since that was the only thing that we have seen i took the shot...

Introduction to the wild
There are many things that you need to know about the wild. First of all you should have the,UT most respect for it because if you don't that's when you'll get hurt. I have spent lots of time hunting, fishing, and camping, the thing that I love the most is that every time you go out it is a new experience. lots of people miss out on the things that happen around them, from the simple little bug to the largest of trees around them. Enjoy the little things in life no matter what it is for you.
The most fun that I have ever had was hunting for my very first deer. I was hunting on Buckskin Mountain in Nevada and we hunted the hell out of that mountain and only found one herd and they were all does and they were way to far away to catch. On the last weekend we were going to leave for home, but my dad and I stayed for one more night. we woke up that morning and as we walked over the first ridge we saw a herd of doe only 40-50 yards away. Bang, I shot the leading doe right in the back of the head, a perfect shot.
